Kim Knox BeckiusSince 1998, Kim Knox Beckius has produced About.com's New England Travel Web site--taking Internet users on virtual tours and providing lively commentary on travel and events in the region. She also produces About.com's local site for Hartford, Connecticut.

She is the author of six books including The Everything Family Guide to New England, published in March 2008 by Adams Media. Kim is also the author of: Backroads of New England (2004 Voyageur Press), The Everything Outdoor Wedding Book (2006 Adams Media), Backroads of New York (2007 Voyageur Press) and The New England Coast (coming fall 2008 from Voyageur Press).

Kim is frequently called on by the media to discuss travel and events in New England. She has appeared on WFSB's Better Connecticut, WTNH Channel 8's Good Morning Connecticut Weekend, Fox 61 news, WPLR FM's Chaz and AJ in the Morning and live via satellite from Connecticut on Retirement Living TV's Daily Cafe.

Kim is a native of New York's Hudson Valley and currently lives in central Connecticut. She holds a Master's degree in education from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a Bachelor's degree in history and public relations from Marist College. In her "prior lives," she has been a newspaper correspondent; a history teacher; public programs coordinator at a Hudson Valley historic mansion; editor and spokesperson for an upstate New York utility company; and senior projects manager for a financial products design, marketing, and consulting firm.
